Dodger

Name: Dodger Age: 5 months Breed: Doberman Weight: 17kg approx. (to make 30-35kg) Height: 35cm approx. (to make 65cm approx) Colour: Liver and Tan

Dodger came to SOS when he was 12 weeks old. He was left at the vets with Parvovirus, but his owners decided to have him put to sleep. One of our fosterers worked at the vets and decided to bring him home as he had a good chance of survival. Dodger made an incredible recovery and was discharged from the vets after a week. He has quite a sensitive tummy after the Parvo but as long as his diet is kept regular he can still have treats and chews.

Dodger is a fantastic puppy, he is full of character and is very sweet natured. He is very quick to learn and he has already mastered ‘sit’ and ‘paw’! He is a beautiful looking dog, and is a typical lively, cheeky puppy. He is very playful, and loves to play games with people and with his toys. He is full of life and you can’t help but smile at his mischievous face!

Dodger will require all the basic training that a puppy needs, including continuing his command training as well as toilet training. He loves his treats and he is very intelligent so he will soon pick this up. He walks very well on his harness and lead, and loves meeting people out on walks. He loves to have a good run and has a good recall.

Dodger is very affectionate; he loves to be cuddled and fussed, and will sit and give you his paw to get you to stroke him! He is brilliant with other dogs, he is very playful, but can be too boisterous for some dogs. He does get over excited on his walks when he sees other dogs so his new family would need to continue his socialisation.

Dodger is going to be a big dog when he is fully-grown, so it is important for his family to dedicate time to his basic training and ensure that he is given enough exercise. A home with experience of Dobermans or large breeds would be ideal.

Dodger is too young to be neutered but must be done when he is old enough. He is fully vaccinated and microchipped. He is fostered in kennels in Derbyshire. He is dying to find his forever home, he is just a baby and he needs a family!
